The Kaiviti Silktails Rugby League Football Club has launched a powerful new logo, a striking symbol signifying a definitive new era forged by the team’s extraordinary spirit and purpose.
Driven by the vision of Chairman and NRL legend Petero Civoniceva and led by Executive Director Stephen Driscoll, the new emblem is a visual testament to the club’s profound resilience, built through overcoming immense adversity since its 2020 inception.
A History Forged in Challenge
The club’s foundation has been built on extraordinary trials. Launched in 2020, the Silktails immediately faced the global pandemic, which halted their season and forced players and staff to remain separated from their families while based overseas.
This period of immense sacrifice was tragically marked by the loss of beloved General Manager, Jacquie Shannon. Her memory continues to be honoured through the dedicated Community Logo, first introduced in 2023 in tribute to “Aunty Jacquie’s Life.”
A challenging transition to the highly competitive Jersey Flegg Cup saw the team weather a tough season, including a run of 26 rounds without a victory. Yet, the Silktails’ foundational philosophy of forging ahead no matter the challenges faced proved true. The team quickly rallied to secure their first-ever Jersey Flegg victory and has consistently demonstrated the grit and resolve that defines the Kaiviti spirit. The club has always found a way to forge ahead no matter the challenges faced, and it will continue to do so.
The Symbol of a New Future
This new logo is a critical step in the club’s evolution, following the original 2020 logo, the emblem used from 2021-2024, the special ‘Aunty Jacquie’ Community Logo, and the recently retired anniversary design. This latest emblem is intentionally focused on the future trajectory.
Executive Director Stephen Driscoll highlighted the depth and purpose of the new design:
“This new logo represents the spirit of every player, staff member, supporter, and community partner who has helped us grow over the past five years. It honours our heritage while driving us into the future with strength and purpose.”
Chairman Petero Civoniceva commented on the launch, emphasizing the logo’s connection to an exciting future:
“This is an exciting moment for our Silktails RLFC in releasing this new refreshed logo as we enter into the 2026 season. This design was developed in consultation with Aaron Eastgate of Westfence Creative who also designed the new Canterbury Bulldogs NRL Club logo, who the Kaiviti Silktails are a feeder Club to and also features on the back of the 2026 Silktails playing jersey and training apparel.”
“The Silktails logo is bold, with an its angular design displaying strength, speed and the Silktails steely focus. The design embodies our spirit of resilience and to keep forging ahead no matter how great the challenge.”
“As our Kaiviti Silktails RLFC and community youth program continues to evolve—it’s great to see our logo evolve similarly, and sets us up for an exciting 2026 and beyond.”
This symbol of the new era is a powerful declaration. The struggles of the past have only served to strengthen the club’s unwavering mission to serve as a powerful, permanent pathway for Fijian talent into the elite levels of Rugby League, ensuring the team remains a source of national pride.
