19-year-old prop and 2022 Kaiviti Silktails Rising Star Winner Watisoni Waqanisaravi, will miss one week (Round 1 of the NSWRL Ron Massey Cup) accepting an early guilty plea for a Dangerous Contact Charge playing in the Sydney Roosters u/21’s team against the Raiders last week.
The Roosters accepted the early plea which will allow the boom prop forward to be available for the Silktails first home game in Fiji against the Bulldogs on March 25, at Churchill Park.
Coach Wes Naiqama was disappointed not to have big Sonny for the Round 1 clash against Penrith Brothers this Sunday, but is glad to have him for Round 2.
“It’s a tough lesson for big Sonny considering he did this with 15 seconds to go and his team were up by 30 points where he scored a try in the Roosters big win. I am sure he’ll learn from this, and the Roosters and Silktails performance teams will be working him overtime to have him primed for when he returns home against the Bulldogs in Fiji next week.” said Naiqama.
