Karawalevu To Be Farewelled From Rugby League At Silktails Christmas In July Fundraiser

Kaiviti Silktails Player #22 and 2021 ‘Rising Star’ Medal Winner Vuate Karawalevu will be farewelled from Rugby League at the Silktails Christmas in July Fundraiser this coming Saturday night, as he recently signed with the NSW Waratahs for the upcoming Super Rugby Pacific season.

Karawalevu was the first player in the club to secure a Top 30 NRL contract with the Roosters after a breakout 2021 season with the Silktails.

The Rooster’s winger started the 2021 season playing for the Silktails in the NSWRL Ron Massey Cup, before playing for the Sydney Roosters in the Jersey Flegg competition through the club’s exclusive partnership that allows Silktails players to be called in to the Roosters teams, providing our players a direct pathway to the NRL competitions.

Karawalevu also spent time playing for the Roosters feeder club the North Sydney Bears in the 2022 NSW Cup. In 2022, he made his international debut for the Fiji Bati in the World Cup in Fiji’s game against Italy.

The Kaiviti Silktails Christmas in July Fundraiser is being held this Saturday – 29/07/2023, at Kirribilli Club, Sydney, with last minute tickets still available.

To purchase a ticket to the event, please click on the link below with a single ticket costing $180.00 or a table of 10 can be purchased at $1800 (food and beverage included).

Our Chief Guest at the event will be Fiji’s Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports – Mr. Jese Saukuru, who will also be our Guest Speaker.

Our club relies on funds to keep providing opportunities for our players. The purpose of our Christmas In July Fundraiser is to provide an opportunity for the Fijian community and well-wishers of Fiji to come together and celebrate a night of Rugby League.
