Silktails Players Watisoni Waqanisaravi and Sirilo Lovokuro have been officially listed in the Fiji Bati Squad that will take on the Cook Islands Aitu this weekend in the 2023 Pacific Championships.
Ahead of the game, Kaiviti Silktails Chairman and 2013 Fiji Bati Captain Petero Civoniceva spoke of how much Waqanisaravi and Lovokuro’s selection meant to the club, and how deserving they are of this opportunity.
“The Kaiviti Silktails RLFC is extremely proud of the selection of our players Watisoni Waqanisaravi and Sirilo Lovokuro for the Fiji Bati in the Pacific Championship. Our goal as a club is to develop Fiji’s best local Rugby League talent to greater opportunities and fulfil their potential in Rugby League” said Civoniceva.
“Their selection is a testament to their dedication, commitment, and the amazing work of Coach Wes Naiqama, Executive Director Stephen Driscoll, and the Silktails Support Staff. We look forward to many more Kaiviti Silktails RLFC players following in the footsteps of these players.”
Joining the two boys in the Bati squad are also former Silktails Captain Peni Tagituimua and Silktails 2021 Best Forward Pio Seci.
The Fiji Bati will take on the Cook Island Aitu this Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Santos National Football Stadium, Port Moresby.
